Volunteering roles

Our volunteers are crucial to the work of Carers Gloucestershire and they work in a variety of ways to help us strive for a better life for carers.

Volunteering roles

They do this through raising the profile of Carers Gloucestershire in doctors surgeries or hospitals, helping with the mailings so carers have the opportunity to learn about the support available, raising money at events, providing administration support and much much more!

Below are just some of the roles we have at Carers Gloucestershire, click on the pdf files to find out more.

  • Visit a GP surgery every couple of months, chat with the person responsible for carers.
  • Raise the profile of Carers Gloucestershire by manning displays at Gloucester Royal Hospital and/or Cheltenham General Hospital. Each shift is for two hours a month, you can do several shifts or just one.
  • Stewarding or preparing refreshments at events.
  • Fundraising activities.
  • Working on our social media.
  • Organising and facilitation of support groups for carers.
  • Sorting our merchandise for the shop.

In my early days of caring when I felt isolated and exhausted I often wondered how long I would cope for then I found Carers Gloucestershire and my inner strength got stronger by the day.
