Are you a carer? We need you!

Are you a carer? We need you!

Carers Gloucestershire is a charity and as such relies on the support and direction of a committed group of trustees who make up our board.

As a charity that supports unpaid carers, we are committed to being carer-led. This means that we wish carers to be an integral part of our staff team, management and board.

We are currently looking for more carers who would like to be trustees.

In an increasingly challenging environment for carers, with social care and healthcare services facing difficult times ahead, it is more important than ever that Gloucestershire has an independent organisation to champion and support unpaid carers.

We need your help to identify where we can make the most difference to carers’ lives and become more sustainable in the way we run the charity

We would like to invite you to our Get Involved event to meet some of our current trustees, find out what’s involved and how you can apply.

Wednesday 27 September 6pm – 7.30pm
Carers Gloucestershire, Messenger House
35 St Michael’s Square, Gloucester, GL1 1HX.
All welcome – call 01452 386283 to confirm or just turn up

There will also be an opportunity to find out more about becoming an ambassador for Carers Gloucestershire, or becoming involved in other ways, if you decide being a trustee isn’t for you.

Will I get paid?

The role is unpaid but we can offer reasonable expenses including travel and alternate care for children or the person you care for. We can also offer support to enable you to attend the event

How much work is required?

The commitment is likely to be in the region of one day per month. We can also offer support as you get to know the role and fund training in a range of skills.
