Carers Week

Carers Week

Did you know, there are more than 63,000 unpaid carers in Gloucestershire?

Carers Gloucestershire Chief Executive, Tim Poole shares some thoughts ahead of a week of events across the county to support carers and highlight the role that carers play in our society.

“Every day, ordinary people do extraordinary things, taking on the huge responsibility of looking after someone who couldn’t manage without their support.

Carers Week, a national campaign, raises the awareness of and celebrates the UK’s 7,000,000 unpaid carers, providing the opportunity to shine a light on the issues and challenges that carers face every single day. We know that in Gloucestershire alone, there are at least 63,000 carers, that’s more than 1 in 10 of the population.

This Carers Week, the message is about helping carers to stay healthy and connected.
