Carer to Carer mentoring

Trained volunteer mentors offering one-to-one support to carers who feel isolated, overwhelmed and would benefit from someone to provide a listening ear through a position of understanding from their own caring experience.

Carer to Carer mentoring

How can we help you?

  • We provide a mentor to listen to you and to share your worries with.
  • The mentor is there to focus on your needs and well being.
  • Support is offered face-to-face, by telephone or email at a time agreed in advance.

How does it work?

  • The scheme is managed by a co-ordinator who will match you with a mentor who has a similar caring experience or interests in common.
  • You will be matched for a period of time as agreed at the start.
  • The scheme will be flexible to meet your needs. This could be meeting for a coffee and a chat once a month, a phone call once a week or emails twice a week at a time to suit you.

Who are our mentors?

  • They are volunteers, carers or former carers who have completed a training course to provide them with the skills necessary to support other carers. They are DBS checked.
